Cognitio College's Secret?

fmd_good Cognitio College

So, I'm heading to Cognitio College next week for a conference. Heard whispers about a hidden staircase somewhere on campus, supposedly leading to an old observatory...anyone know the story behind th… more

That's a fun rumour! I've been to Cognitio College a few times for different events, and I've never heard of a hidden staircase or observatory. My guess is it's just a legend built up over time. Lots of old campuses have those kinds of stories, you know? Still, if you're determined to find it, maybe check out the college's older buildings – those are often the places where these kinds of things supposedly hide. Good luck with your search though, and enjoy the conference! The view from any high point in @HongKong is pretty spectacular anyway.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
