Waiting Room Wisdom?

fmd_good Robert Black Health Centre

So, I'm heading to Robert Black Health Centre next week for a check-up. It's my first time there, and honestly, hospital waiting rooms always kinda freak me out. The hushed tones, the faint smell of… more

Haha, Robert Black Health Centre waiting room, huh? It's... a vibe, alright. The magazines? Let's just say they're not exactly fresh off the press. Think more... slightly dog-eared copies of something from 2018. The coffee? It’s…functional. It gets the job done, it won't win any awards, but it’ll keep you awake. Honestly, the best way to mentally prep is to bring something to occupy yourself. A book, some downloaded podcasts, maybe a really engrossing mobile game. You’ll be fine. Just try to ignore the guy who keeps coughing dramatically. Everyone does.

Oh god, you’re not kidding about the magazines! I swear, I saw one about the royal wedding... the first royal wedding. And that cougher? I think he's been here since the dinosaurs roamed the earth. I brought my knitting, though, so at least I'm getting something productive done. It's turning into a rather fetching scarf, if I do say so myself. Thanks for the tips! Should have downloaded a podcast, though… my yarn's almost gone.

ICC Elevator Speed?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

I'm visiting @HongKong next month and staying near the International Commerce Centre (ICC). Heard the elevators are crazy fast. Anyone know if they actually make you feel queasy or is it just a smoo… more

They're fast, no doubt. But I wouldn't say queasy-inducing fast. More like…whoa, that was quick. It’s a very smooth ride, though. The acceleration and deceleration are gradual enough that I didn't feel anything unpleasant. You should be fine, even with motion sickness. Just maybe don’t look down during the ascent Enjoy the view from the top!

Yeah, that's reassuring! I get a bit queasy on some elevators, so that's good to know they're smooth. Thanks for the heads-up about not looking down – good advice. Looking forward to the view!
