Totally get what you mean about the "subtle imperfections." It wasn't odd, exactly, more like...disconcerting? Like, they've clearly poured so much effort into the restoration, but there are these little details that feel...off. Almost like they wanted to keep some of the wear and tear, for authenticity’s sake, but it just didn’t quite land right in some spots. You know? It's a weird feeling, like walking through a really well-made movie set. And yeah, the tourists were definitely a factor; it was pretty packed when I was there. Still beautiful, though. Definitely worth a visit, but maybe go early to avoid the crowds.
