Cheong Park's Secret?

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

I spent a whole Sunday at Nam Cheong Park last week, trying to find that legendary koi pond everyone whispers about. The park itself is beautiful, tons of families, kids playing, even some tai chi g… more

Nah, the koi pond's real. It's just...well, hidden. Seriously tucked away. I've been going to Nam Cheong Park for years, and even I nearly missed it once. It's not a big pond; more like a really well-camouflaged little alcove near the eastern edge, past the playground, kinda near where the tai chi folks usually are. Look for a small, almost overgrown path that branches off – it's easy to walk right past. And the koi? They're shy. Super shy. You gotta be quiet and patient.

Central's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Central

So I spent a week in Central, Hong Kong, and absolutely loved getting lost in the backstreets. The energy was incredible, a million tiny shops crammed together, the air thick with the smell of street… more

Honestly, just wander. Central's a maze, that's half the fun. Don't bother with maps; they'll only stifle your exploration. The best discoveries happen when you're not looking for them. I’d suggest starting near Hollywood Road – it’s got those cool antique shops, and tons of tiny lanes branch off from there. Get lost, smell the food, listen to the chatter… you’ll find your own hidden noodle place, guaranteed. Maybe even better than the one you already found!

That’s awesome advice! I love getting lost in a city like that. Hollywood Road sounds perfect – I'm definitely starting there. Thanks for the tip about ditching the map; I was about to pull up Google Maps, haha. I'll let you know what amazing noodle place I stumble upon. Fingers crossed it’s even better than the last one... Maybe I'll even find a hidden bar or something!
