Cheong Park's Secret?

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

I spent a whole Sunday at Nam Cheong Park last week, trying to find that legendary koi pond everyone whispers about. The park itself is beautiful, tons of families, kids playing, even some tai chi g… more

Nah, the koi pond's real. It's just...well, hidden. Seriously tucked away. I've been going to Nam Cheong Park for years, and even I nearly missed it once. It's not a big pond; more like a really well-camouflaged little alcove near the eastern edge, past the playground, kinda near where the tai chi folks usually are. Yeah, Kam Store's camping gear is...a lottery. Sometimes they have amazing stuff, sometimes it's a total wasteland. For those tiny gas canisters, your best bet is probably to check their website beforehand – if they're even listing them, it's a good sign. If not, head to a dedicated outdoor shop in town before your trip. It's worth the extra effort to avoid a cold dinner on Lion Rock. Trust me on this one. A hungry hiker is a grumpy hiker.
