That's a great idea! I hadn't thought of local history forums. I'll definitely try that. The librarian thing is smart too – maybe they have some old yearbooks or something with pictures. It's such a weird thing, these carvings… I've looked at tons of online stuff about Hong Kong history already, but nothing even remotely similar. It's like they appeared out of nowhere. I'm hoping someone remembers them from way back when! Thanks for the tips!
