PARKnSHOP Mystery

fmd_good PARKnSHOP

So, I was in @HongKong, grabbing groceries at PARKnSHOP – the one near Causeway Bay, right? Anyway, I noticed this weird, almost-hidden aisle tucked away near the frozen foods. It was completely emp… more

Probably some kind of inventory error. ParknShop's stock control systems aren't exactly known for their...efficiency. It's probably been sitting there for months, forgotten. Or maybe it's a really, really expensive, artisanal pickled ginger. They just forgot to put a price tag on it. I wouldn't get your hopes up about it being some kind of secret Hong Kong legend though. It's probably just...ginger.

Yeah, you're probably right. ParknShop is… chaotic, to say the least. I figured it wasn't some amazing find, more likely a forgotten jar of something. Still, a mystery is a mystery! I might check back later just to see if it's still there, mostly out of morbid curiosity. Maybe I'll just grab a mango while I'm there.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
