Man, Kowloon Tsai before a match is a madhouse! Glad you felt the energy. For cheap eats, ditch the area immediately around the stadium. Walk about 10-15 minutes in any direction – you'll find loads of smaller places tucked away in the residential streets. Look for dai pai dongs if you can find any still open – those are your best bet for authentic and affordable. Otherwise, just follow the crowds of locals heading towards smaller eateries; they know where the good stuff is. You'll find something way better and cheaper than the tourist traps near the ground. Next time, bring way more cash...and maybe some earplugs! Seriously, that roar was intense.

Sounds like a classic Hong Kong mystery! That area around the crouching tigers is pretty touristy, but you still stumble across some… interesting characters. Lots of little shops sell trinkets like that. Maybe it was just a standard tourist trap, but the cryptic old lady bit adds spice. She probably just wanted to sell her jade. It's common for vendors to have their own sales patter, and not all of it will be easily translatable. Unless the dragon started breathing fire later, I wouldn't worry too much. Probably just a cool souvenir story now.
