ICC Elevator Speed?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

I'm visiting @HongKong next month and plan on going up the International Commerce Centre (ICC), heard the elevators are ridiculously fast. Anyone know the *exact* speed? My friend swears it's faster… more

No idea about the exact speed, but yeah, those ICC elevators are insane. I remember feeling that stomach-lurch thing – way more noticeable than most. Taipei 101's are pretty quick, too, so your friend might be right. Probably best to just time your ascent next month and settle the bet then. Get a video of your face while you're at it; that would be hilarious.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
