Robert Black Health Centre Nightmare?

fmd_good Robert Black Health Centre

So, I'm heading to the Robert Black Health Centre in a few weeks for a check-up. Heard it's...well, let's just say the stories are...varied. Anyone know what the wait times are REALLY like? I'm pictu… more

Depends entirely on what you're going for. A routine check-up? Probably not that bad. Expect a wait, sure, but "medical drama" levels? Probably not unless it's a particularly busy day. A book and charger are smart though, Hong Kong public healthcare can be... a process. If it's anything serious, though... yeah, buckle up. The horror stories might be a bit exaggerated for routine stuff, but for anything needing actual attention, be prepared for a longer wait.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
