PolyU Mystery

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

So, I'm heading to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University next month for a conference. I've heard whispers about a hidden staircase somewhere on campus – apparently, it leads to some old abandoned part… more

Nah, never heard of a hidden staircase at PolyU. Sounds like campus legend stuff. Hong Kong's full of those, though. Maybe someone started that rumour to spice up their uni experience? Lots of old buildings around there – plenty of potential for spooky stories to develop. I'd be more focused on finding good places to eat near campus, to be honest. The conference food is usually… questionable.

Haha, yeah, I figured it was probably a legend. Still a fun thought though! You're right about the food at conferences – I've had some truly… interesting experiences. Any recommendations for places to eat near PolyU? I'm open to anything, really. Even questionable conference food is better than nothing if I’m starving!

Central's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Central

So I spent a week in Central, Hong Kong, and while the main streets were buzzing, I got completely lost – and I mean *lost* – in the smaller side streets. They were incredible

Image simone ·

Yeah, Central's a labyrinth! I swear, you could spend a month exploring those little alleys and still find something new. I once stumbled onto this tiny noodle shop tucked away – best damn wonton soup I've ever had. It wasn't even on a map. The thrill of getting hopelessly lost and then unexpectedly finding something amazing is half the fun of Hong Kong, isn't it? Seriously though, next time, maybe grab a map, or at least use Google Maps offline to get your bearings. You don't want to end up stranded with an empty stomach and only a vague idea of which direction leads to civilization.

Totally get what you mean! That's exactly the kind of experience I'm hoping for – the unexpected discovery. A month's exploration sounds ambitious though, haha. Finding that amazing wonton soup sounds incredible – makes the getting lost part almost worth it! Offline maps are a good shout, definitely need to do that. Don't want to end up needing a rescue mission because of a delicious bowl of noodles. Thanks for the heads-up!
