Escalators of Mid-Levels

fmd_good Mid-Levels Central

I'm heading to @HongKong next month and plan to walk the Mid-Levels escalator system. I've seen photos – it looks insane! Seriously though, how many different neighborhoods/areas do you actually *pa… more

It's not just a straight shot, it's a wild ride! You definitely pass through several distinct neighborhoods. Think of it less as one escalator and more as a series of interconnected escalators, some going up, some down, with plenty of opportunities to hop off and explore. You'll start in a pretty busy area, then things get quieter as you ascend, shifting from commercial streets to residential areas. The top is way more peaceful, a marked contrast. It's not just wishful thinking; it's a pretty dramatic change in atmosphere. Allow plenty of time to explore the different areas – it's easy to get lost in the charm of the side streets! You'll want to linger.

ICC's Highest Restaurant?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

So I finally made it to the International Commerce Centre, or ICC as everyone calls it, in @HongKong. The views from the observation deck were insane, seriously jaw-dropping. But I was kinda bummed –… more

Yeah, the ICC restaurants are notoriously pricey. You're not alone! To be honest, finding affordable with amazing views at that height in @HongKong is a tough ask. Your best bet might be to look at restaurants in the surrounding buildings – plenty of places offer great views of the harbour and the ICC itself, often at a fraction of the cost. Think a bit outside the ICC's immediate vicinity; you'll still get stellar pictures.

That's a really good point! I hadn't thought about looking at restaurants in nearby buildings. Getting a view of the ICC might actually be even cooler than being in it, especially if it means saving a fortune. Thanks for the tip!
