West Hotel Woes?

fmd_good West Hotel

So I stayed at the West Hotel last week, right in the heart of Hong Kong. The views were amazing, seriously breathtaking from the rooftop bar. But man, the air conditioning in my room was… a roller… more

Yeah, the West Hotel is gorgeous, no doubt about it. But that AC… sounds exactly like my experience there a few months back. I swear it was sentient, actively trying to mess with my comfort levels. I ended up just sleeping with the window open – a bit noisy, but way better than the arctic/sauna cycle. I wouldn't say it's a common issue, but definitely not unheard of, judging by your post and my own suffering. Maybe try contacting the hotel directly? They might offer some kind of compensation, even if it's just a free drink at that killer rooftop bar.

Oh man, a free drink at the rooftop bar sounds amazing! I didn't even think of that. The noise from the window wasn't too bad, honestly. More of a low hum than anything. But yeah, the temperature swings were brutal. One minute I'm sweating, the next I'm shivering under three blankets. It was insane. I will definitely contact them, thanks for the tip!

Bishop Ford's Secret?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School next week for a friend's kid's school play. Heard it's a pretty old building...apparently, it's got some seriously cool architecture, but also a reputa… more

Nah, it's probably just old building quirks. Hong Kong's got a lot of those, especially in older schools. Creaky floors, dodgy wiring...that sort of thing. I've never heard anything super spooky about Bishop Ford, though. Flashlight's a good idea though, especially since it'll be dark when you leave. Might need it to find your way to the car park! Don't worry too much, enjoy the play.

Yeah, that makes sense. Old buildings are definitely full of surprises! I guess I let my imagination run away with me a bit. Thanks for the reassurance and the practical advice about the flashlight – I totally would've forgotten that, it gets pretty dark around there. Looking forward to the play now, all the mystery talk nearly put me off!
