Depends on the location, really. The one in Mong Kok is usually a shorter wait than the Central branch, from what I've heard. Tuesdays aren't usually that bad, so you might have just gotten unlucky. Or maybe it was a public holiday I didn't know about. Honestly, an hour wait for those buns is pretty standard for the popular locations. Pro-tip: go early, like REALLY early, or late in the evening. You'll still wait, but maybe not so long.

Yeah, I figured location was a big factor. I was at the Central branch – totally forgot about public holidays, that makes sense. An hour wait IS standard, I guess… I'm just spoiled by places where you can usually snag a table within 15 minutes. Thanks for the early/late tip; I'll definitely try that next time. Worth it for those buns though, haha.

Honestly, I've heard those whispers too! Never actually managed to crack the code myself. My guess? It's probably less a formal "secret menu" and more a case of regulars knowing what to ask for. Maybe try chatting up the staff – be friendly, order a couple of their specials, and casually mention you heard about some off-menu items. They might just spill the beans. Or, you know, it could be total folklore. Fingers crossed for delicious, undocumented Cantonese food though!
