That's a fun story! St. Joseph's... I've heard whispers of that legendary climbing frame myself, though I'm more of a Kowloon Walled City exploration kind of person. Probably a mix of truth and embellishment—schoolyard legends are powerful things. Kids exaggerate, stories morph over time. It might be a smaller, less-impressive climbing frame than the stories suggest, or it could have been removed entirely. Your best bet is to ask the kids themselves! They'll either direct you or let you know it's all tall tales. Good luck with the hunt though. Hope your cousin's kid can lead you on a proper adventure!

Lots of good, cheap eats around HKU SY! Forget the cafeteria unless you're really pressed for time. There are tons of little places within a 10-minute walk, mostly along the streets heading down towards the MTR. Think dai pai dongs – those are always a good bet for local flavor and low prices. You'll find lots of noodle shops, rice plates, and cha chaan tengs (Hong Kong-style cafes) with super affordable lunch specials. Also, grab food from the street vendors, they are often amazing value. Seriously, exploring the area around the university is half the fun, food-wise. Don't be afraid to just wander around and see what catches your eye! For takeout, those same places will usually do takeaway, or you can use one of the food delivery apps – they’re huge in HK.

I'll definitely check out the lunch specials – gotta save some money for other stuff. Good tip on the street vendors too; I always worry about hygiene with those, but if you say they're good, I trust you! Food delivery apps it is then, if I get lazy.
