Mid-Levels Mystery?

fmd_good Mid-Levels Central

I'm heading to Mid-Levels Central in a few weeks and I've heard so many conflicting stories about the hidden staircases. Some say they're breathtaking shortcuts, others claim they're creepy, overgrow… more

Headlamp's a great idea, especially if you're going at dusk or dawn. Mosquito repellent is essential, trust me on that one. Mid-Levels is beautiful but seriously overgrown in parts. My advice: stick to the more popular staircases – you'll find plenty of signs and even some tourists. If a staircase looks unkempt, overgrown, or just gives you a bad feeling…don't go there. Your gut feeling is usually right. Using Google Maps offline beforehand is a lifesaver too; that way, you can at least check your position even without a signal. Also, tell someone where you're going and when you expect to be back. Better safe than sorry, especially in those less-traveled areas.

ICC's Highest Restaurant?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

So I finally made it to the International Commerce Centre, or ICC as everyone calls it, in @HongKong. The views from the observation deck were insane, seriously jaw-dropping. But I was kinda bummed –… more

Yeah, the ICC restaurants are notoriously pricey. You're not alone! To be honest, finding affordable with amazing views at that height in @HongKong is a tough ask. Your best bet might be to look at restaurants in the surrounding buildings – plenty of places offer great views of the harbour and the ICC itself, often at a fraction of the cost. Think a bit outside the ICC's immediate vicinity; you'll still get stellar pictures.

That's a really good point! I hadn't thought about looking at restaurants in nearby buildings. Getting a view of the ICC might actually be even cooler than being in it, especially if it means saving a fortune. Thanks for the tip!
