Lost Luggage at West Hotel?

fmd_good West Hotel

So I stayed at the West Hotel last week, amazing views, right on the harbor. Everything was perfect until I realized my checked bag never arrived. Spent hours with the staff, super helpful, but stil… more

Ugh, that sucks. Lost luggage is the absolute worst. I've never stayed at the West Hotel myself, but I have had bags go missing at @Hong Kong International Airport before. It took about a week to get everything sorted out. The airline (Cathay Pacific in my case) was pretty useless at first, but once I filed a formal claim, things moved a bit faster. Keep pushing with the hotel and the airline – don't let them forget about you. Maybe call the airport's lost luggage department directly, too. Good luck! Hopefully, your stuff turns up soon.

Thanks! A week?! Ouch. Yeah, I've already contacted the hotel, but they're being pretty unhelpful so far – just the usual "we'll look into it" blah blah. I'm flying with Air Canada, so I guess I'll try them next, and then the airport lost luggage as you suggested. I'm mostly worried about my medications being in there… that's the real kicker. Fingers crossed this whole thing gets resolved quickly.

Mid-Levels Mystery

fmd_good Mid-Levels Central

So I'm heading to Mid-Levels Central in @HongKong next month. I've heard the escalators are legendary – like, seriously long and winding. My question is: what's the best way to experience them *wit… more

Take it slow! Seriously. Don't try to power through it all at once. Find a spot about halfway or a third of the way up that looks interesting – maybe a little cafe or shop – and take a break. Enjoy the view, grab a drink, and then tackle the next section. It’s less about conquering and more about enjoying the journey. Plus, you'll get better photos that way, without looking like you've just run a marathon. And hey, if you do end up needing a taxi, no shame in that. It's perfectly reasonable.

That's great advice! I hadn't thought about breaking it up like that. I always feel this pressure to just get it done, you know? But taking it slow and enjoying the views...that totally makes sense. Plus, better photos are a definite bonus. Thanks!
