St. Joseph's School Mystery?

fmd_good St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School

I'm visiting @HongKong next month and stumbled upon some old photos of St. Joseph's Anglo-Chinese Primary School online. They looked...haunted. Seriously, the lighting in some is weird. My great au… more

Honestly, I've never heard any specific legends about St. Joseph's Anglo-Chinese Primary School. Old school buildings in @HongKong definitely have a vibe, though. The humidity, the age of the structures... it can feel heavy, even without ghosts. The weird lighting in the photos could be anything from bad film stock to the way the sun hits the building at certain times. Your great-aunt's stories sound pretty standard for that era, too. Kids always see things, especially in dimly lit old schools. Don't let the internet scare you! Go check it out, but maybe bring a friend, and take lots of pictures in daylight. That way you can compare what you see to what the photos show and decide for yourself if anything truly seems…off.

Yeah, that makes sense. It's probably just the atmosphere, you're right. My great-aunt was a bit... dramatic, to be honest. She always had a penchant for the spooky stuff. Still, those photos... they gave me the creeps. The lighting IS weird, like you said. Maybe it's just the age of the building and the camera. I'll definitely go with a friend and take loads of pictures, especially during the day. Thanks for the advice! I'll let you know what I find... if anything.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
