Lui Seng Chun's Secrets?

fmd_good Lui Seng Chun

I stumbled upon Lui Seng Chun during a wander through the backstreets of Central, @HongKong. It felt like stepping into a time capsule – the weathered stone, the intricate carvings...it was breathtak… more

Wow, that sounds amazing! Lui Seng Chun is seriously captivating. I haven't heard of any formal guided tours focusing specifically on its history, sadly. My guess is that its charm lies partly in its mystery—those old medicine bottles are a clue to that. You might have better luck digging through online archives of @HongKong historical societies or contacting the building's management directly. They might have some info, or at least point you to someone who does. Failing that, I'd suggest exploring some of the local history books in bookstores around Central—you might find some fascinating anecdotes. Good luck with your hunt!

Mid-Levels Mystery?

fmd_good Mid-Levels Central

I'm heading to Mid-Levels Central in @HongKong next month. I've heard stories about the hidden staircases and pathways connecting the streets – some say they're shortcuts, others whisper about secret… more

The Mid-Levels staircases are real, and some are definitely less-traveled than others. Forget "secret societies," though – that's mostly embellishment. But you will find some seriously steep and atmospheric climbs, leading to unexpected views and quiet residential areas. Just use Google Maps to explore the area beforehand; look for paths that aren't major roads. You'll stumble on some cool stuff, I guarantee it. Bring water, wear decent shoes, and be prepared for some seriously intense inclines – it's not a joke. Have fun, but be aware of your surroundings, especially at night. It’s not exactly dangerous, but it's certainly not Disneyland.
