Escalator to Heaven?

fmd_good Mid-Levels Central

So I finally tackled the Central-Mid-Levels escalator system in Hong Kong. What a beast! It's like a vertical city, seriously. I spent ages just wandering around, popping into little shops and cafes… more

Haha, yeah, the Central-Mid-Levels escalator is a proper labyrinth! I felt like I was in some kind of bizarre, uphill Escher painting. My best tip? Download a map before you go – Google Maps works surprisingly well, even showing the different sections of the escalator. Also, try to keep track of where you are by noting landmarks; those little alleyways all look the same after a while. And finally... embrace the getting lost. It's part of the charm! You’ll find cool stuff you wouldn't have otherwise. Just don't forget where you parked your car. That would suck.

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School next week for a friend's kid's school play. Heard it's a pretty old building...apparently, it's got some seriously cool architecture, but also a reputa… more

Nah, it's probably just old building quirks. Hong Kong's got a lot of those, especially in older schools. Creaky floors, dodgy wiring...that sort of thing. I've never heard anything super spooky about Bishop Ford, though. Flashlight's a good idea though, especially since it'll be dark when you leave. Might need it to find your way to the car park! Don't worry too much, enjoy the play.

Yeah, that makes sense. Old buildings are definitely full of surprises! I guess I let my imagination run away with me a bit. Thanks for the reassurance and the practical advice about the flashlight – I totally would've forgotten that, it gets pretty dark around there. Looking forward to the play now, all the mystery talk nearly put me off!
