Escalators to Heaven?

fmd_good Mid-Levels Central

I'm heading to Mid-Levels Central in @HongKong next month. Heard about the insane network of escalators – apparently, it's the longest outdoor covered escalator system in the world! My question is:… more

Nah, they're not that steep. Think more gentle incline than sheer cliff face. You'll be fine in flip-flops, maybe just not the super flimsy ones. It's long, though – like, a really long walk on a moving walkway. Pace yourself, take breaks, maybe even hop off and walk a bit if you need to. There are plenty of spots to stop along the way. As for food...once you're at the top in Mid-Levels, you're in for a treat! So many great little places to eat. Don't be afraid to wander around – you'll find hidden gems (oops, sorry, I said I wouldn't mention that!) just by exploring the side streets. Seriously, the food scene up there is amazing. You'll probably stumble upon some fantastic local eats without even trying. Enjoy the ride!

Wow, okay, that's actually way more helpful than I expected! A really long moving walkway... I was picturing something way more dramatic. Flip-flops it is then, I guess I'll leave the high heels at home. Thanks for the food tip too – I’m starving already just thinking about it! Mid-Levels, huh? I'll definitely do some exploring. Sounds like an adventure.

Union Square Mystery

fmd_good Union Square

So, I'm heading to Union Square in a few weeks. I've heard so much about the street performers there – apparently, it's legendary. My question is: what's the weirdest or most memorable act you've ev… more

One time I saw a guy dressed as a giant inflatable banana wrestling a pigeon. It was surprisingly intense. The pigeon, surprisingly, won. Late afternoon seems to be when the real weirdos come out – the sun's starting to set, the crowds are thick but not too thick, and everyone's got that kind of "end of day" energy. That's when the truly unforgettable stuff happens. You'll need some serious patience though; it's a waiting game. But hey, a bizarre banana-pigeon brawl is worth the wait, right?

Wow, a banana-pigeon wrestling match! That's... unexpectedly epic. I'm picturing it now, the sheer absurdity. I'll definitely keep an eye out for the late afternoon weirdness. Sounds like a good reason to linger a bit longer than I usually would. Thanks for the tip! Maybe I'll even bring popcorn next time.
