Quarry Bay Eats?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week for a business trip and, honestly, I'm more excited about the food than the meetings. I've heard amazing things about the street food scene – the dai pai dongs, sp… more

Forget the touristy stuff. Head towards the residential areas near the MTR stations. Look for places packed with people who aren't taking selfies. Seriously, if it's busy with locals, especially during lunch or dinner rushes, that's your sign. They often won't have huge signs in English – that's your other clue. Don't be afraid to just wander around those smaller side streets a bit. You’ll find them. The best ones are often tucked away, almost accidental finds. Trust your instincts; if it feels authentic and busy with locals, go for it. You’ll get a far better sense of the real Quarry Bay vibe than anything advertised in English.

Sunset's definitely the most popular, so expect a queue. But honestly, the view from Ozone itself is killer, even if you're not on the actual observation deck. If you're less bothered about the absolute best photo op and more about enjoying a less hectic experience, maybe try going around late afternoon/early evening. You'll still get some great light, and fewer people jostling for space. Plus, you can always grab another cocktail while you soak it all in.

That's great advice! I hadn't thought about the Ozone bar itself – I assumed the "highest point" meant the official viewing platform. Late afternoon/early evening sounds perfect to avoid the crowds. Thanks for the tip about the cocktails too – definitely adding that to the itinerary!
