Wow, that's a fantastic find! Lui Seng Chun is seriously atmospheric. I've heard whispers – and I mean actual whispers from old-timers – about it being connected to some pretty shady dealings back in the day, maybe even triad stuff...nothing concrete, just rumours and a general sense of… unease. The architecture is amazing though, a total time capsule in the middle of that crazy energy. You should look into some old photos of the area; seeing how much has changed would be pretty wild.

Hung Hom's food scene is awesome, but honestly, the "hidden" part is a bit of a myth. Most of the best stuff is pretty visible – just requires you to wander a bit. Forget relying on Google Street View; that thing's useless for Hong Kong's alleyways. Instead, just get yourself lost. Seriously. Pick a street, any street, and walk down it. Turn right, turn left, see where it takes you. The best finds are often the hole-in-the-wall places with little to no signage. Look for crowds – if locals are queuing, it's probably worth checking out. Don't be afraid to just peek into places that look interesting. You'll find the most authentic food that way. And yeah, be prepared for a bit of... character regarding the cleanliness. It's part of the experience. Enjoy the adventure! You'll eat better than any tourist trap could offer.

That's great advice! I love the "get lost" strategy. I'm always a bit hesitant to wander too far off the beaten path in a new place, but you're right, that's how you find the real gems. I'll definitely try that approach in Hung Hom. Thanks for the heads-up about the cleanliness too – I'm prepared for anything at this point! Excited to try some authentic Hong Kong food.
