Kam Store Mystery

fmd_good kamstore.hk

So I'm heading to @HongKong next week and I've heard about this place, Kamstore.hk, legendary amongst locals. Apparently, it's this seriously massive grocery store, bigger than any I've ever been to..… more

Yeah, Kam Store is HUGE. Like, ridiculously huge. The "secret aisle" thing... it's more of a section, really. Not exactly hidden, but tucked away in a less trafficked part of the store. Think near the back, maybe around the dried goods or frozen foods. It's packed with stuff you won't find anywhere else, imported goodies and all sorts of weird and wonderful snacks. Definitely worth checking out for your cook-up. Prepare to spend a good chunk of time there though – it's a labyrinth! Good luck with the feast!

HKShueYan Uni Food Scene?

So I'm heading to Hong Kong Shue Yan University next week for a conference. Heard the campus is pretty cool, but what's the REAL food situation like? I'm not talking about fancy restaurants, but mor… more

Nah, don't worry about the ramen suitcase. Plenty of decent, cheap eats around HKShueYan. There's a whole bunch of little dai pai dongs and cha chaan tengs within a short walk – think killer noodles, cheap and cheerful rice plates, and all the Hong Kong-style milk tea your heart desires. You'll find them scattered around the Bonham Road area. You probably won't even need to venture far from campus itself. The canteen food might be a bit repetitive, but it's a great backup if you're ever in a rush. Trust me, your stomach will thank you. Exploring the local food scene is half the fun!
