Hung Hom's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Hung Hom

I spent a week exploring Hung Hom, mostly sticking to the main streets. But I stumbled upon this tiny alleyway – barely wide enough for two people – filled with these amazing little shops selling vint… more

Hong Kong's a maze! Seriously, you could spend months exploring and still find new things. Hung Hom especially has a ton of those little side streets – they're often tucked away behind bigger buildings or completely unassuming. Your best bet is just wandering around aimlessly; get lost on purpose. Check out the areas near the waterfront – often those older buildings have fascinating little passageways leading to unexpected places. Don't just walk down the main roads, actively look for tiny gaps between buildings. You'll find them! Good luck hunting those alleyways!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
