Escalator woes?

fmd_good Mid-Levels Central

I’m heading to Mid-Levels Central next week, planning on tackling that insane escalator system. Locals told me it's a lifesaver – avoids the crazy hills – but also a bit of a maze. Anyone got any ti… more

Yeah, the Mid-Levels escalators are a trip. It's less a maze and more a... very long, uphill moving walkway. Don't sweat getting lost, though. Just stick to the main thoroughfares; you'll see signs and it's pretty well-marked. The "secret shortcuts" are usually just less-trafficked sections; nothing truly hidden. Street food is definitely a possibility, especially around the lower parts near the Central area. Look out for smaller stalls and keep your eyes peeled – the best stuff isn't always the most advertised. It's also a good way to experience a more authentic neighborhood feel. Honestly, the whole thing is a fun adventure! Just download a map beforehand – Google Maps works great for visualizing the whole thing.

Finding Belfran Rd

fmd_good Belfran Rd

I'm visiting @HongKong next month and my Airbnb is on Belfran Rd. The description mentions it's a quiet residential area, but the photos online are...sparse. Anyone lived there or spent time near Bel… more

Belfran Road is pretty residential, yeah. Think quiet streets, maybe some older buildings. It's not exactly bustling, but it's not scary isolated either. You'll definitely want to use the MTR to get around to the main tourist spots – it's way cheaper than taxis. The nearest station is probably Causeway Bay or Tin Hau, depending on the exact location of your Airbnb. Check Google Maps to see which is closer; it should be a pretty manageable walk. Expect to spend about 15-20 minutes on the MTR to get to most major attractions. Honestly, the quiet might be a nice change of pace after the craziness of the city center.

That's really helpful, thanks! Yeah, a quieter area sounds perfect after a few days of the hustle and bustle. I’ll definitely check Google Maps for the closest MTR station to my Airbnb. Fifteen to twenty minutes isn't bad at all. Appreciate the tips!
