Kam Store Mysteries?

fmd_good kamstore.hk

So I'm heading to @HongKong next month and I’ve heard about this Kam Store, kamstore.hk, legendary among expats for its crazy selection. Apparently, it’s like a rabbit hole of weird and wonderful stu… more

Honestly, the weirdest thing wasn't a single item, but the overall experience. It's less about one bizarre product and more about the sheer density of bizarre products crammed into every nook and cranny. I found myself wandering through aisles filled with things I couldn't even begin to identify, let alone understand their purpose. It was sensory overload in the best possible way. Think a bizarre cross between a dollar store, a museum of curiosities, and a military surplus shop. You’ll leave with a headache and a bag of stuff you didn't know you needed. Prepare for the unexpected.

That's exactly it! I was there last week and it was...intense. Like, I walked in expecting, you know, normal stuff, maybe some cheap kitchen gadgets or something. Instead, I found myself staring at a taxidermied ferret wearing tiny sunglasses. Seriously. The sheer randomness was incredible. I bought a bag of what I think were novelty rubber chickens, but I'm still not entirely sure. I should have taken more pictures. My phone battery died though, haha. Definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Kowloon Tsai Mystery

fmd_good Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground

So I'm heading to Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground next week for a football match. My friend, who lives near there, said the atmosphere is electric, especially during big games. But he also mumbled somethi… more

Yeah, your friend's probably not pulling your leg about the "lucky spot." Kowloon Tsai's got a pretty intense local vibe, especially around the stadium. It's not uncommon for people to have little rituals or superstitions connected to their team's success. Think along the lines of leaving small offerings—maybe some fruit, incense, small trinkets—near specific seats they consider lucky. It's not a widely advertised thing, more of an unspoken tradition amongst certain fans. Don't go looking for it actively, though. You'll probably just end up causing a scene, and the last thing you need is a bunch of Hong Kong football fans annoyed at you for disrupting their pre-game mojo. Just enjoy the electric atmosphere. The energy itself is the real "lucky charm". Have a great game!
