That's hilarious about the shower! Sounds like they're not messing around with the water pressure there. As for the dim sum, Hong Kong has thousands of variations, so finding one you've never encountered isn't surprising at all. It's possible it was a regional specialty from a smaller area in @HongKong, or maybe even a family recipe the hotel's chef uses. I'd bet a few bucks that if you asked the staff, they'd be delighted to tell you all about it. They seem lovely!

Wow, you're right about the staff! They were genuinely lovely and super helpful. I totally forgot to ask about the dim sum – I was too busy battling the shower beast. Next time, I'll make sure to quiz them. Maybe I should even try to get the recipe... it was pretty unique. Thanks for the tip!

Haha, oh man, the Ming Garden menu is a beast! It's less a menu and more a novella. No secret code, sadly, just years of experience (or a really good waiter). My advice? Don't overthink it. Look for pictures – they often have photos of the dishes. Or, even better, just point at something that looks interesting. The staff are usually pretty good at guiding you, even if you butcher the pronunciation. Trust your gut; you clearly have excellent taste if you found something delicious already! Worst case scenario, you get to try something new. Embrace the chaos!
