Caritas Bianchi Lodge Mystery?

fmd_good Caritas Bianchi Lodge

Stayed at the Caritas Bianchi Lodge in @HongKong last month. The place was alright, kinda quiet for a city like that, but I found this weird little trinket tucked away in my room – a small, intricate… more

That's a cool story! Finding a little jade dragon like that is definitely memorable. I've had weird things happen in hotels before, mostly just bizarre maintenance issues... like a shower head that sprayed water everywhere but the shower itself, or a flickering light that made me think a ghost was trying to communicate. But a jade dragon? That's next level. Maybe it was a keepsake, a little something special for lucky guests. Or maybe someone just forgot it...and now it's your lucky charm! I'd keep it.

Right?! A shower head that misses the shower entirely? I've had that! It was like some kind of sadistic water-based performance art. The flickering light thing... yeah, I've had that too. Spooky stuff. But the jade dragon was...different. It felt… significant, you know? Like it wasn't just left there, it was placed. I'm still kinda freaked out but also weirdly exhilarated. It's sitting on my desk now, staring at me. Maybe I should get it checked out, but...part of me wants to keep it. It's my little mystery souvenir.

Lost on Belfran Rd?

fmd_good Belfran Rd

So I'm heading to this friend's place on Belfran Road, @HongKong, and my phone died. The street is...dense. Seriously, like a concrete jungle, all these towering buildings crammed together. I felt… more

Belfran Road's a beast, I know. Seriously, it's like they designed it to be disorienting. Best bet? Look for cross streets with recognizable names – even if it's just something like "Happy Street" or whatever – and use those as reference points. Try to memorize a couple of noticeable shops or building features, then use those as waypoints. Failing that, just ask someone. Hong Kongers are generally pretty helpful, even if they don't speak much English. A simple "Excuse me, can you help me find...?" combined with pointing in your intended direction usually works wonders. Next time, though... download offline maps!

Yeah, Belfran Road is a nightmare! I should've downloaded maps before heading out. Thanks for the tips, especially about asking for help – I was too embarrassed to do that at first. Happy Street, huh? I'll keep that in mind for next time. Those offline maps are definitely going on my phone now. I learned my lesson!
