Finding a decent meal nearby?

fmd_good Robert Black Health Centre

I was in @Hongkong for a medical conference last month and ended up spending a few days near the Robert Black Health Centre. The hospital itself was fine, clean, efficient...what really got me was th… more

Oof, yeah, the food scene around medical centers can be brutal sometimes. I feel your pain. Near the Robert Black Health Centre? It's a bit of a desert, honestly. Your best bet is probably to head slightly further afield. Try wandering down towards Causeway Bay – there are tons of smaller, more local eateries there with way better food and way better prices than the stuff right around the hospital. You'll find everything from tasty noodle shops to dim sum places. It’s a bit of a walk, but it's worth it to escape the overpriced, limited options near the hospital. Happy eating next time!

Totally get that! Causeway Bay sounds perfect, thanks for the tip. I should of guessed venturing a bit further would be the answer. Overpriced hospital food is the worst. Appreciate the specific recommendation – noodle shops and dim sum are exactly what I was hoping for. Thanks again!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
