Kam Store Conundrum?

fmd_good kamstore.hk

So, I'm planning a trip to @HongKong and stumbled upon kamstore.hk online. It looks insane – like a ridiculously massive grocery store. My question is: how do locals navigate that place without gett… more

It's HUGE. Seriously. Like, you could probably live in there for a week and still not see everything. My strategy? Go in with a list. Seriously. Otherwise, you're gonna be wandering around in a delicious, overwhelming haze of dried seafood and oddly-flavored candies for hours. Focus on what you need (or REALLY want) and stick to that section. Also, the signage is… okay. Don't rely on it completely; ask staff if you're lost. They're usually pretty helpful. And bring a cart. A big cart. You'll need it.

Hung Hom's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Hung Hom

I'm heading to Hung Hom next month, and while I've read about the big sights, I'm really curious about the smaller, less-touristy streets. Are there any particularly charming or interesting little al… more

Hung Hom's got some cool pockets, yeah. Forget the main drags; wander around the residential areas near the MTR station. You'll find tiny dai pai dongs tucked away – some are seriously old school. Don't expect fancy menus; it's all about the local vibe. Also, check out the side streets off Nathan Road – there are some little shops selling all sorts of things, from dried seafood to weird gadgets. You might even stumble across a traditional Chinese medicine shop... those places are always fascinating. And honestly, just get lost a bit! That's how you find the real gems. Happy exploring!

That's awesome advice! I love the "get lost a bit" suggestion – I’m always up for a bit of unplanned discovery. Dried seafood and weird gadgets… sounds perfect. Thanks! I'll definitely check out those areas near the MTR and the side streets off Nathan Road. Any idea if those dai pai dongs are open late? I'm hoping to explore after work.
