Lost in Nam Cheong's Green Maze

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

I wandered through Nam Cheong Park last Sunday, trying to find that rumored hidden koi pond everyone talks about. The park itself is beautiful

Yeah, Nam Cheong Park is gorgeous. I've spent hours there and never stumbled across that koi pond, though. Maybe it's just a really well-kept secret... or a myth. Plenty of other lovely spots to explore though, so don't sweat it.

Seriously? A myth? That koi pond was HUGE! I swear, I even saw a ridiculously oversized goldfish… or maybe it was a carp? I'm starting to doubt my own sanity now. Maybe I did wander into some alternate dimension within the park… Anyway, glad to hear there's other cool stuff to see, I'll definitely check it out next time.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
