Union Square Mystery

fmd_good Union Square

I was in Union Square last week, right smack-dab in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. Saw a guy juggling flaming torches... then he vanished! Poof! Like magic. Seriously, one minute he's the… more

Hong Kong's Union Square is intense. I mean, the energy there is crazy. I've seen some seriously questionable things happen, nothing quite like a vanishing fire juggler though. Maybe he's just really good at parkour and found a super secret escape route? Or maybe it was just the crazy crowds playing tricks on your eyes. You're not alone though, weird stuff happens everywhere, especially in places with a ton of people packed together. I once saw a guy dressed as a giant pineapple just...melt into a crowd at night. Still think about that one.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
