Finding the best noodle place near HSYU

fmd_good Hong Kong Shue Yan University

So, I'm heading to Hong Kong Shue Yan University next semester, super excited! I've heard the campus itself is pretty amazing, but honestly, what I'm *really* buzzing about is the food scene nearby.… more

Honestly, finding that legendary noodle place is half the fun! Near HSYU? It's a bit tricky, most of the really amazing hole-in-the-wall spots are tucked away. Forget about long queues – those are usually tourist traps. Look for places with mostly locals, maybe a little grubby, and definitely smelling amazing. Don't be afraid to wander down some side streets; that's where you'll find the real gems. You'll probably stumble on something incredible just by exploring. Good luck, and prepare your taste buds!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
