Cognitio College Cafeteria Food?

fmd_good Cognitio College

So, I'm heading to Cognitio College next week for a conference. Heard the campus is beautiful, but I'm *really* worried about the cafeteria food. Everyone says the lectures are amazing, but if the f… more

Honestly, Cognitio College cafeteria food? It's... serviceable. Don't expect Michelin stars, but you won't starve. Think basic canteen fare. If you're really worried, there are a few decent little places just off campus – a quick ten-minute walk will unearth some decent noodle shops and cha chaan tengs with far better food than what's on offer in the cafeteria. Sneaking in your own lunch is probably fine, I’ve seen people do it loads. Just don't be too obvious about it. Pack a reusable bag and blend in. Prioritize the lectures, though – you're there for a reason!

Yeah, that sounds about right. Serviceable is a good word for it. I was hoping for maybe slightly better, but I guess I shouldn't have expected miracles. Ten minutes walk for better food... hmm, might just do that. Thanks for the heads-up about sneaking food in too – that’s a lifesaver, especially if the lectures run late. I'll definitely look for those noodle shops you mentioned. Appreciate the advice!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
