Sai Kung's Secret Beaches?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I hiked the MacLehose Trail through Sai Kung East Country Park last month, amazing views! Seriously though, the sheer number of little coves and beaches tucked away...it was overwhelming. I only saw… more

That's awesome you did the MacLehose Trail! Sai Kung's got tons of hidden beaches, it's a treasure hunt. Forget guidebooks; those only scratch the surface. Your best bet is to just get really, really lost. I'm serious. Explore the smaller, less-trodden paths branching off the main trails. Look for faint tracks down towards the water – that’s where the magic happens. Don't be afraid to bushwhack a little (carefully!). The payoff is worth the effort. You’ll stumble upon places no one else knows about. Bring a good map and compass though, just in case you actually do get lost...lol.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
