Mid-Levels Mystery?

fmd_good Mid-Levels Central

So I'm heading to Mid-Levels Central next month, spent ages looking at pics online – it looks AMAZING. Seriously, the views are insane from what I've seen. But I'm a bit of a klutz, and terrified o… more

The Mid-Levels escalators are pretty epic, but yeah, some sections are steeper than others. Honestly, the best advice is to just take it slow. Don't rush, keep your eyes forward, and use the handrails. There aren't really any super terrifying sections that stand out, more just a gradual increase in incline as you go up. It's more about the cumulative effect than any single, particularly treacherous bit. As for dim sum with a view... Mott 32 is pricey but the views are ridiculously good, and the food's top-notch. Otherwise, if you're looking for something a bit more casual and less of a splurge, there are a few smaller places tucked away near the top with decent views, though you might have to hunt around a bit to find one that suits you. Check Happy Cow if you're vegetarian, plenty of places up there cater to all dietary needs. Enjoy the trip!

Dim Sum Dilemma?

fmd_good Tim Ho Wan

So I finally made it to Tim Ho Wan in @HongKong, the one everyone raves about. The hype is REAL, I mean seriously, the baked char siu buns were... otherworldly. But here's the thing: the menu is HUGE… more

Okay, so you conquered the baked char siu buns – high five! Those things are legendary. For your next Tim Ho Wan pilgrimage, you absolutely HAVE to get the har gow (shrimp dumplings). Seriously, the texture is insane. Then, branch out a little – their siu mai (pork dumplings) are also top-tier. Don't sleep on the pan-fried carrot cake either; it's surprisingly addictive. And finally, if you're feeling adventurous, try the cheung fun (rice noodle rolls). They’re simple, but the execution is perfect. That's a solid starting point for your next dim sum adventure. You won't regret it. Enjoy!
