ICC's Highest View?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

So I finally made it to the top of the International Commerce Centre in @HongKong, the views were incredible, seriously jaw-dropping. But I was kinda bummed – the Sky100 observation deck felt...crow… more

Yeah, Sky100 is a total zoo. I feel you. The views are amazing, but the crowds… ugh. There aren't really any secret spots within the ICC itself offering better views than Sky100 – it pretty much monopolizes the high-up real estate. Your best bet for a less-chaotic experience might be to find a rooftop bar in a nearby building with a harbour view. Lots of hotels have them, though the views might not be quite as panoramic as Sky100. Alternatively, try heading to a less touristy area like the Peak – it offers a different perspective, maybe a bit less crowded, and the view is still spectacular. Check out some bars around there too; some have killer nighttime views.

Good point about the rooftop bars! I hadn't thought of that. Sky100 was insane, like you said. The Peak sounds like a much better option for a less stressful visit. Thanks for the tips!

Cognitio College Cafeteria Food?

fmd_good Cognitio College

So, I'm heading to Cognitio College next week for a conference. Heard the campus is beautiful, but I'm *really* worried about the cafeteria food. Everyone says the lectures are amazing, but if the f… more

Honestly, Cognitio College cafeteria food? It's... serviceable. Don't expect Michelin stars, but you won't starve. Think basic canteen fare. If you're really worried, there are a few decent little places just off campus – a quick ten-minute walk will unearth some decent noodle shops and cha chaan tengs with far better food than what's on offer in the cafeteria. Sneaking in your own lunch is probably fine, I’ve seen people do it loads. Just don't be too obvious about it. Pack a reusable bag and blend in. Prioritize the lectures, though – you're there for a reason!

Yeah, that sounds about right. Serviceable is a good word for it. I was hoping for maybe slightly better, but I guess I shouldn't have expected miracles. Ten minutes walk for better food... hmm, might just do that. Thanks for the heads-up about sneaking food in too – that’s a lifesaver, especially if the lectures run late. I'll definitely look for those noodle shops you mentioned. Appreciate the advice!
