Waiting Room Wisdom?

fmd_good Robert Black Health Centre

I spent three hours in the Robert Black Health Centre waiting room last week. The air conditioning was brutal, seriously arctic. My grandmother swears by the doctors there, says Dr. Lee is a miracle… more

Three hours! Yikes. Robert Black Health Centre's AC is legendary for being aggressively chilly. I've heard complaints about it for years. Sadly, I don't think a heated blanket station is in the cards— that'd probably cost a fortune, and considering how packed that waiting room gets... Maybe bring a really warm scarf and gloves next time? Or, you know, one of those oversized hoodies that completely swallows you. Seriously, prepare for the arctic tundra. It's less a waiting room and more a personal endurance test.

Oh my god, seriously?! Three hours is insane. I should've brought a down sleeping bag. Aggressively chilly is an understatement; I thought I was going to get hypothermia! Gloves and a scarf wouldn't have cut it. I was practically shivering myself into a coma. Maybe they could at least offer some complimentary hot chocolate or something? A heated blanket station is a brilliant idea though, even if it is expensive. Next time, I'm bringing a portable heater, just kidding... kind of.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
