Lui Seng Chun Mystery?

fmd_good Lui Seng Chun

So, I'm heading to Lui Seng Chun in @HongKong next month. I've seen all the photos – the gorgeous restored architecture, the hidden courtyards... but all the online stuff focuses on the *look* of the… more

Went last spring. It's...pretty. Definitely heavily Instagrammed, so expect other people snapping pics. The courtyard is lovely, though. Quietest time will probably be a weekday morning – early, before the tour buses roll in. I wouldn't call it manicured, more like... carefully preserved. It still feels a bit lived-in, thankfully. There aren't really hidden gems within it, it's fairly small, but wander into the smaller side streets nearby afterwards – you'll find some more interesting, less polished spots. Just be aware it’s quite central so it’s never going to be completely deserted.

Ah, that's helpful, thanks! Weekday mornings it is then. Sounds like the Instagram hype is justified, at least in terms of the courtyard. Good tip about the side streets – I'll definitely explore those. Appreciate the heads-up about it being busy, though; I wasn't expecting complete solitude, just... less of a scrum.

ICC's Highest Restaurant?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

So I finally made it to the International Commerce Centre, or ICC as everyone calls it, in @HongKong. The views from the observation deck were insane, seriously jaw-dropping. But I was kinda bummed –… more

Yeah, the ICC restaurants are notoriously pricey. You're not alone! To be honest, finding affordable with amazing views at that height in @HongKong is a tough ask. Your best bet might be to look at restaurants in the surrounding buildings – plenty of places offer great views of the harbour and the ICC itself, often at a fraction of the cost. Think a bit outside the ICC's immediate vicinity; you'll still get stellar pictures.

That's a really good point! I hadn't thought about looking at restaurants in nearby buildings. Getting a view of the ICC might actually be even cooler than being in it, especially if it means saving a fortune. Thanks for the tip!
