ICC's Highest Restaurant?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

So, I'm heading to @HongKong next month and plan on hitting up the International Commerce Centre (ICC), specifically the restaurants near the top. I've heard the views are insane, but I'm wondering a… more

Depends on the restaurant, really. Some are easier to get into than others. The super-fancy, Michelin-starred places? Yeah, those'll probably need booking weeks, maybe even months, in advance. But there are other options up there that are still amazing with great views and a less brutal reservation process. I'd check the websites of specific restaurants you're interested in; they usually have online booking systems. Don't just rely on OpenTable or similar – some of the high-end places don't use those. And yeah, the views are insane. Worth the effort, even if you have to do a little legwork to get a table.

Totally get that. Months in advance?! Sheesh. Okay, checking individual restaurant sites makes sense – hadn't thought of that. Thanks for the heads-up about OpenTable not always being the answer; I was gonna rely on that. Insane views are definitely a selling point though... might even be worth the hassle for a special occasion.

Finding Central's Hidden Lanes

fmd_good Central

I spent a week exploring Central, Hong Kong, and while the skyscrapers are impressive, I got completely lost in the maze of tiny side streets. They were filled with amazing little shops and cafes I… more

Yeah, finding those little alleys in Central is half the fun! Most maps just won't do them justice. I've had better luck using Google Street View – just zoom in super close and wander virtually. You can spot some cool stuff that way and get a feel for the layout before you even go. Then, when you're there, just get lost! Seriously, that's the best way to discover them. It’s like a treasure hunt. Maybe grab a cheap local SIM card with data so you can use your phone's GPS if you get really turned around, but honestly, embracing the chaos is part of the Hong Kong experience.

That's awesome advice! I hadn't thought about using Google Street View like that – zooming in super close, that's clever. Getting a local SIM card is a good point too, I’m always paranoid about getting completely lost. But yeah, embracing the chaos... that sounds exactly right. It's part of the adventure, I guess. Thanks!
