Union Square Mystery?

fmd_good Union Square

I was in Union Square last week, dodging those crazy cable cars and trying to find decent dim sum. The sheer volume of people was insane! I ended up in this tiny, tucked-away tea shop – seriously, I… more

Hong Kong's a crazy place, yeah? Union Square's always packed. Sounds like you stumbled onto something. Tea shops in that area are often family-run, passed down for generations. Maybe that map's got some family history? Or maybe it's just a really old map. Lots of old buildings around there, could be a clue to something completely mundane. Or maybe not... I'd bet there's some interesting local lore connected to that area though. You should definitely try to go back and take a picture of that map next time you're there. If it's really that old, it could be valuable!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
