PolyU Food Stalls?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

So I'm heading to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University next week for a conference. Heard the food court there is legendary...but I'm a bit of a picky eater. Anyone know if they cater to, like, REALLY… more

PolyU's food court is pretty extensive, so your chances are decent. It's not all just greasy spoons, though it definitely has its share. They usually have a few stalls offering more 'standard' fare like noodles and rice dishes – you might find something plain enough to fit the bill there. I wouldn't bet on anything super specialized though, unless you count "lots of variations on chicken and rice" as specialized. Packing some snacks might still be a good idea, just to be safe. Otherwise, the area around PolyU also has some decent restaurants, it's not exactly a food desert. You could always scout those out beforehand if you're really worried.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I was hoping for something a bit more exciting, but "lots of variations on chicken and rice" is definitely a fair assessment! Thanks for the heads-up about the surrounding area too – I hadn’t even thought of looking beyond the food court itself. Snacks it is then. Appreciate the help!

Kowloon Tsai Mystery

fmd_good Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground

Nah, that's Kowloon Tsai for ya. People keep secrets like it's their national sport. Probably is a tunnel, though. Old guys in oversized tracksuits rarely lie about things like secret tunnels... especially in Hong Kong. They've seen things. Things we wouldn't believe. Just roll with it. Next time, follow the old guy. You might find a hidden mahjong den or something equally bizarre.
