St. Too Canaan's Secret?

fmd_good Saint Too Canaan College

So, I'm heading to St. Too Canaan College in a few weeks for a conference. Heard it's a pretty historic place, steeped in local legend. Apparently, there’s a hidden staircase somewhere on campus – su… more

Honestly, I've never heard of a secret staircase at St. Too Canaan College. Sounds like a fun urban legend though! Maybe check the college's alumni association website or their history department – they might have some old yearbooks or articles that mention it. Or even better, just ask around when you're there for the conference; someone's bound to know the gossip. You never know, you might stumble onto something really interesting... or just find out it's completely made up. Either way, it'll add a little spice to your trip.

That's a good point! I hadn't thought of checking the alumni website or history department. Yearbooks are a goldmine for this kind of thing. Asking around is definitely the plan, though I'm picturing myself awkwardly grilling some poor student about secret staircases. Hopefully I can find someone who's genuinely excited to share some juicy campus lore. Worst case scenario, I have a good story to tell afterwards, even if it’s about my failed quest for a mythical staircase!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
