Central's Hidden Lanes

fmd_good Central

So I was wandering around Central, right? Got completely lost in these tiny, crazy side streets. They were packed with these amazing little shops, selling everything from vintage clothes to weird sn… more

Dude, Central's a maze! I know exactly what you mean. Those alleyways are insane. You should check out the area around Hollywood Road – it's packed with antique shops, but wander down the smaller streets branching off and you'll find some seriously cool stuff. There’s a tiny little bakery near Man Mo Temple I found once, forget the name, but the egg tarts were legendary. Also, try heading towards Lyndhurst Terrace; lots of hidden cafes and bars there. Honestly, just get lost again. That's half the fun in Central. You'll stumble across things you'd never find on a map.

ICC Elevator Speed?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

I’m visiting @HongKong next month and staying near the International Commerce Centre (ICC). Heard the elevators are super-fast...like, ridiculously fast. Anyone ever felt a little queasy or disorien… more

Yeah, the ICC elevators are insane. They're seriously fast. I didn't get queasy, but I definitely felt that whooshing sensation – it's a bit like being on a very smooth, very vertical rollercoaster. The view from the top is breathtaking though, totally worth it. If you're really scared of heights, maybe take the elevator up slowly? There are other observation decks in @HongKong with less intense elevator rides. But honestly, the speed is part of the experience. Just focus on the amazing view when you get there.

Wow, thanks! A rollercoaster comparison is perfect – that's exactly what I was picturing. I'm not terrified of heights, but the speed thing is what's got me slightly hesitant. I appreciate the tip about other observation decks in @HongKong – good to know there are alternatives if I need them. The view sounds incredible though; I think I'll just go for it and embrace the whoosh!
