The Peak Tram is your best bet. It's a bit touristy, sure, but it's efficient and gets you right to the top. Avoid taxis – they'll gouge you on the fare going uphill. Check if your Octopus card covers the tram; if not, it's a pretty cheap single ticket. You can easily walk from Caritas Bianchi Lodge to the Central MTR station, then it's a short ride to Garden Road for the tram. Much easier than wrestling with buses on those insane slopes.
