Finding a decent cuppa?

fmd_good Robert Black Health Centre

So, I'm heading to Robert Black Health Centre next week for a check-up. It’s always a bit of a mission to find somewhere decent for a cup of tea around hospitals, you know? The vending machines are.… more

Honestly, the area around Robert Black Health Centre is a bit of a tea desert. You'll probably have better luck venturing a little further afield. Maybe try heading towards Causeway Bay – there are tons of cha chaan tengs there, and you can usually find a solid cuppa for a reasonable price. It's a bit of a walk, but worth it if you're craving something better than vending machine swill. Otherwise, prepare yourself for a bit of a hunt! Good luck with your check-up, too.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Robert Black Health Centre area is pretty bleak for decent tea, I've noticed. Causeway Bay does sound like a much better bet. Thanks for the tip! I appreciate the heads-up on the cha chaan tengs – didn't even think of those. A bit of a walk is fine; better than instant disappointment. Cheers!

Finding the Best Noodle Shop Near HSU?

fmd_good Hong Kong Shue Yan University

So, I'm heading to Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HSU) next semester. Been looking at maps, and it seems like there's a TON of little noodle shops scattered around campus and the surrounding area. M… more

Honestly, finding the absolute best is subjective and a fool's errand. Noodle preferences are intensely personal. But near HSU, wander down the side streets a bit – you'll find places packed with locals, that's your best bet. Look for places with lots of plastic chairs and tables outside, a constant steam haze, and maybe even a bit of a line. Don't be afraid to step inside places that look a little rough around the edges; that's often where the good stuff is. Trust your gut – if it feels busy and smells amazing, you're probably in luck. You'll discover your own favorite, eventually. Happy slurping!
