Totally get what you're saying. The AFCD maps are a lifesaver, I should've thought of that! Online maps are useless for anything beyond the main paths. I did find some decent info on a hiking forum – not gonna lie, it was a rabbit hole of conflicting advice, but I eventually pieced together something usable. I'm thinking a guided hike might be the way to go for my next trip, though. Way less stressful. Thanks for the tips!
