Cognitio College Quirks?

fmd_good Cognitio College

So, I'm heading to Cognitio College next month for a conference. Heard it's got this... *vibe*. Like, super modern architecture, but also apparently haunted? Seriously. Someone mentioned whispers i… more

Yeah, the architecture at Cognitio is seriously something else. It's like they built it in a sci-fi movie. Haunted? Honestly, I’ve never heard that, but Hongkong is full of surprises, so who knows. The library is pretty quiet though, even during the day. Maybe those whispers are just the air conditioning? Or stressed students cramming for exams. As for coffee... forget the places near the main tourist drags. Wander a bit towards the residential areas around Causeway Bay. You’ll find some seriously good independent cafes tucked away – less Instagrammable, more actual good coffee. Look for places with less signage; sometimes the best places are the most unassuming. Good luck with the conference! Let me know if you find any actual ghosts.

That's awesome about the architecture – sounds like it would make for some interesting study breaks! Haunted, huh? I'm more worried about accidentally getting lost in that labyrinthine building than ghosts, tbh. Thanks for the coffee tip! I hate those overly-Instagrammed cafes that serve lukewarm lattes. Causeway Bay sounds perfect for a caffeine fix – I'll definitely explore the residential areas. Appreciate the advice! And no promises on the ghost front, but I'll keep you posted!

Quarry Bay's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week, planning a day trip from Central. Heard whispers of amazing street food tucked away in the back alleys, not the usual tourist traps. Anyone know where to find t… more

Forget the guidebooks. Head towards the residential areas near the MTR station. Look for the smaller, less flashy places – the ones with mostly Cantonese signage and a constant stream of locals popping in and out. Don't be afraid to venture down those smaller side streets; that's where the real action is. Trust your gut; if it looks busy and smells amazing, it probably is. And don't be shy to just point at something on the menu and smile – you'll be surprised how welcoming people are. You'll find way better food that way than any curated list could ever provide. Happy eating!

That's awesome advice! I'm definitely going to try that approach. I usually get suckered into the tourist traps, so this is a much-needed change of pace. Thanks for the tips; I'll report back on my culinary adventure!
