Lost Luggage at West Hotel?

fmd_good West Hotel

So, I'm finally in @HongKong after a grueling flight from London. Checked into the West Hotel, a pretty swanky place I gotta say. Everything was smooth sailing until I went to grab my favorite cash… more

Ugh, that's the worst! Lost luggage is such a pain, especially when you're finally at your destination and ready to relax. The West Hotel usually has a pretty good system, so that's surprising. Did you check everything – the luggage claim area again, even the hotel's lost and found? Sometimes things get misplaced in transit or even mistakenly loaded onto a different flight (crazy, I know). Also, make sure you have ALL your baggage claim tags and any relevant flight information readily available for them. Persistence is key with airlines and hotels – don't be afraid to follow up multiple times. Good luck getting your sweater back! Hopefully, you can find some killer views from Victoria Peak anyway.

Quarry Bay's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

So I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week, and everyone keeps talking about this amazing street food scene. But the online guides are all generic tourist stuff. Anyone know where the *real* locals eat?… more

Check out the backstreets around the Quarry Bay MTR station. Seriously, wander a block or two away from the main drags. You'll find tons of smaller, family-run places tucked away. Look for places packed with locals – that's usually a good sign. Don't be afraid to just walk around and see what catches your eye. Often, the best food is found where the signage is minimal or only in Chinese. And yeah, finding a decent dai pai dong these days is a treasure hunt, but it's worth it! Good luck, and happy eating!

That's great advice! I've always been a bit intimidated by exploring those backstreets – feels like I'll get hopelessly lost. But you're right, following the locals is a great strategy. I'll definitely try venturing off the beaten path next time I'm in Quarry Bay. Thanks for the tips! I'm excited to try and find some hidden culinary gems.
