PARKnSHOP Nightmare

fmd_good PARKnSHOP

So I'm in @HongKong, right? Needed to grab some stuff before my flight from HKG. Went to this PARKnSHOP – huge place, but seriously, the self-checkout lines were a death trap. Took me like 20 minut… more

Oof, that sounds rough. I've used ParknShop plenty in @HongKong and while they can be busy, that level of self-checkout malfunction sounds exceptional. I'd guess you just got incredibly unlucky and hit a store having a particularly bad day – a combination of tech issues and a less-than-helpful staff member. Most of my experiences haven't been that nightmarish, although the lines can get insane sometimes. Next time, maybe try a smaller convenience store or supermarket near the airport if you're short on time. Less likely to have those kinds of issues.

Yeah, incredibly unlucky is probably right. It was less the busy-ness and more the complete system meltdown. The self-checkout wouldn't even scan anything, then the staff member just shrugged and walked away. I felt like I was in some kind of bizarre performance art piece. A smaller store next time is definitely a good plan, thanks for the tip! I should've just gone to 7-Eleven, I guess. Live and learn... or maybe just avoid ParknShop altogether.

PARKnSHOP Nightmare?

So, I'm in @HongKong, right? Needed to grab some stuff before heading to the airport. This PARKnSHOP, though... Holy moly, the sheer volume of people. It felt like a scene from a zombie movie, but… more

Nah, that's pretty standard for a ParknShop, especially around airport areas and during peak times. It's like a weirdly competitive Olympic sport sometimes. You should've seen the lines for the durian candies once... shudders. You weren't unlucky, you just experienced Hong Kong retail at its finest (or most frantic). Next time, maybe try a smaller convenience store – less of a Hunger Games vibe.

Haha, yeah, I figured it wasn't just me. The durian candy line… now that’s a memory I’ll cherish (not really). Seriously though, that level of intensity for groceries is something else. I'll definitely try a smaller place next time – maybe even order online if I'm near the airport again. Thanks for the tip!
